5 km from the base is a small shopping center called Boma Ng’ombe, available is two banks with ATM machines, a vegetable market, small and simple supermarket, and some local food restaurants. About 25 km away on one side is Moshi town and 65 km on another side is Arusha town. Moshi town is a bit smaller compared to Arusha town. Both Moshi and Arusha have banks, ATM machines, supermarkets, hotels and also government administrative offices.

As a base we run a couple of ministries and schools.

• Kings Kids
  Mercy Ministries and many others.

Kilimanjaro base has 3 other outreach centers that it oversees that are Engatani, Nguser, both in maasai communities, and Mkata. 

We are a team of about 42 staff members with Philip Nasari as our base leader and his wife Lydia Nasari.

There are lots of places around the base that are great for touring. Example there’s a hot water spring about 17 Km from the base, another example is Materuni waterfalls and many other sites.
