Housing

During your stay you will share a dorm with other participants. For couples/families we will try if we can accommodate an own room.

In all our locations we have good access to internet.

Practical Information

Travel Info

YWAM Heidebeek has good connections from Amsterdam Airport (Schiphol, AMS). Traveling by train or bus is one of the safest and most convenient ways to get around in the Netherlands, and the airport has its own train station. Most Dutch people speak English well and are happy to help if needed.

In the main airport hall, you can purchase train tickets using the yellow-and-blue ticket machines, check in with your bank card, or buy your tickets in advance at https://ns.nl/en or via the NS app. Both the website and the app provide up-to-date travel information. Expect to pay around €25–30 for a one-way ticket.

Transportation

There are different ways to go from the airport to Heidebeek, see what is most convenient for you timewise. It’s about a 2h train-bus journey and we offer to pick you up at the bus stop ‘HEERDE, TRANSFERIUM’. Make sure to let us know your estimated time to arrival.

What to bring?

Bedding & Towels
We ask that you bring your own bedding and towels. If this is a problem, you can rent a set for €12. Please indicate this on the registration form.

Electricity
The Netherlands uses the standard continental European 2-pin plug (types C and F). You can find more details at https://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plugs-and-sockets/. The power supply is 220 volts. Please check if your electrical appliances are compatible, or bring a converter/transformer if needed.

Weather in Early April
Early April in the Netherlands is typically cool and variable, marking the transition from winter to spring. Temperatures range from 5°C to 13°C, with occasional frost at night. Rain is common, so expect intermittent showers, though there may also be sunny spells. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a waterproof jacket.
